Who Is Hillzy?

Hillzy (Hilary Chipunza) is a 23 year old artist from Zimbabwe based in Cape Town, South Africa. He is well known for his sensational RnB music with aunique tangy taste of Hip Hop to it. His music is self composed and most of it self produced. He likes to distinguish his singing (as Hillzy) and producing (as Mr Masinh) ability as he aspires to open a recording label himself in the future (Mr Masinh Productions) and hopefully sign other upcoming artists to the soon-to-be recording label. Hillzy came to the limelight in 2015/2016 when he released his song Let Me Know which went viral with thousands of shares, views and downloads on various social media platforms. The young man had previously released a 14 Track mixtape along with his very talented colleague H3nry (also deemed as one of the top 5 rappers to lookout for in South Africa 2016) titled T.U.T.O.R Mixtape which stands for The University Take Over Reloaded in 2015, which was a huge success and stepping stone into the industry for both H3nry & Hillzy. Let Me Know’s instant traction around Africa had people looking out for more of Hillzy’s tracks which led people to the previously released T.U.T.O.R Mixtape. The Mixtape got a fantastic review from the African Hip Hop Blog and went as far as getting into South African rapper Cassper Nyovest’s ears. Popular songs on the tape include Paranoid, Handidi Newe, Kool Kid From Joburg which had fans asking for more from the duo. Hillzy released more tracks in 2016 like You Are Enough, Feelings Must Fall & Changes which instantly got him more international attention and most of all massive radio airplay, tv performances on SABC 2 & SABC 3 and magazine features. 

Apart from the music, Hillzy holds a BSc in Computer Science & Computer Engineering from the University Of Cape Town, South Africa. He does a lot of app development and photography when he is not in the booth.
